Light Rail is forecast to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 38,000 tonnes per year by 2031.
- The Transitway conversion to rail will mean that Ottawa will use approximately 5600 fewer tonnes of salt during the winter months, improving our environment and saving an estimated $420,000 per year. Read more
