Ottawa, 17 April 2012 – As part of ongoing Ottawa Light Rail Transit (OLRT) project geotechnical investigations, some traffic restrictions will be in place on Rideau Street between Sussex Drive and Nicholas Street beginning April 22, 2012 until May 1, 2012.
Rideau Street will be restricted to buses and taxis only between 6:00am and 7:00pm Monday through Friday.
The City will be drilling boreholes from April 23, 2012 following the morning rush-hour to May 1, 2012.
Pedestrians will continue to use sidewalks on the north and south sides of the road. Cyclists may also use the sidewalks but are requested to walk their bikes, or use an alternate route. Detours for non-transit vehicles, including cyclists, will be in place and signs posted between Nicholas Street and Elgin Street.
